Maria Thom founded the business in 1980 after she completed her training in Fashion designing at the Pretoria Technicon. Initially the business specialized in wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and mother of the bride dresses.

Later the business was expanded to include men’s and boy’s suits, shirts, waistcoats, ties, bow ties and cravats to accommodate the man’s needs for both weddings and matric farewell functions. These can be purchased or hired depending on your specific needs.

The business also provides wedding cakes as well as baking accessories for those who wish bake their own cakes. Accessories for the bride are also available for example: Tiaras, veils, fascinators (small hats), ring cushions, garters, lace umbrellas, shoes, white pantyhose and baskets as well as confetti, rose petals, streamers, sweet bags and serviettes. To cater for the traditional African theme wedding dresses and outfits for both the bride and her entourage. For the men and boys traditional suits and shirts are also available. The business also supplies togas and mortarboards for graduates and diploma recipients.
